For almost 15 years Lorna MacEachern has been helping graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in a wide variety of disciplines to plan their goals and transition into meaningful careers. She has presented at professional conferences and been a guest speaker at numerous academic conferences and meetings. After obtaining her MA in Counselling Psychology, Lorna began her career at McGill University as a Career Counselor for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. She then joined the Office for Postdoctoral Affairs at Yale University, where she established a new career service for postdocs. Lorna is currently working for the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies at McGill, where she is managing myPath: a network of tools and programming to help students and postdocs to create an Individual Development Plan (IDP). She is also the past president of the GPDN (Graduate and Postdoctoral Development Network).

Pendant presque 15 ans, Lorna MacEachern a aidé les étudiants diplômés et les étudiants postdoctoraux d’une multitude de disciplines à trouver des carrières significatives. Elle a fait des présentations dans des congrès professionnels de même qu’été conférencière invitée dans de nombreuses réunions et conférences universitaires. Après avoir obtenu sa maîtrise en Psychologie du counseling, Lorna a débuté sa carrière à l’Université McGill en tant que conseillère en orientation pour les étudiants diplômés et les étudiants postdoctoraux. Elle s’est ensuite jointe au Bureau des Affaires postdoctorales à la Yale University, où elle a instauré un nouveau service d’orientation pour les postdoctoraux. Lorna travaille actuellement pour la Faculté des Études supérieures et postdoctorales à McGill, où elle a développé myPath, un réseau d’outils et de programmation qui aide les étudiants et les postdoctoraux à créer un Plan de développement individuel (PDI). Elle est aussi présidente sortant du RPESP (Réseau pour le perfectionnement aux études supérieures et postdoctorales).
